Programming the Comdial System

• When you install software on a Comdial system, you are prompted for a unique system

software key code. The software key code is also referred to as the system software code.

This code controls access to feature sets, system capacity, and special stand alone features.

• You obtain the software key code from a Comdial representative by calling the numbers

provided below.

• The code you are provided will correlate to the serial number of the particular system with

which you are working. On the DXP Plus, it is the Ram card serial number. On the FX

series, it is the CPU serial number. Therefore, you must provide the serial number to the

Comdial representative to obtain the software key code.

Identifying the System Serial Number

• You can identify the phone system serial number by logging into the phone system using

VMMI.

When logged in the serial number appears at the bottom of the screen in a status bar.

Obtaining the System Software Key Code

• Once you have obtained the serial number, call (800) 669-2663 (calls from within the USA)

or (941) 922-3800 (international calls). The Comdial representative will ask you for the

serial number, the size of the system (port capacity), and any feature sets that may need to be

activated.

• The features you may purchase are:

• UCD reports

• ISDN Networking

• VoIP Networking

• IP channel activations for VoIP Networking or iPrimo phones

• Fiber expansion

Entering the Code

Once you have the software key code:

1. On the Services board locate dipswitch 8 and turn it on (in the down position.)
