End-to-End Signaling On Intercom
After establishing an intercom call, the system can continue to send and receive dialing signals (DTMF tones)
through the intercom path. This feature can be performed from every station in the system and is used by
peripherals such as an ATI–D–1PT accessory unit for voice mail.
End-to-End Signaling On Lines
After a user has established an outside call, the system can continue to send dialing signals (DTMF tones)
through the public switched network and have them received at the distant end for inward call completion (bank
by telephone, voice mail). Users can perform this conventional, on or off-hook dialing feature from every
station in the system.
Enhanced Night Mode
The digital communications system has flexible ringing assignments for three different time frames: Day 1, Day
2, and Night modes. This feature allows the user to cycle through these different time frames manually using a
Night button that installers map on their telephones. The button provides four settings: Day 1, Day 2, Night,
and Off. By choosing a Day 1, Day 2, or Night setting, users manually select the ringing assignment time frame.
By choosing Off, users allow the system to select the flexible ringing assignments that activate automatically.
Enhanced Ringing
The enhanced ringing feature allows stations, relays, external pager, hunt groups, and DID lines to have a
versatile set of ringing choices. The enhanced ringing feature provides alternate ringing assignments on specific
programmed days of the week or specific programmed holidays.
When installers select one of the ringing modes—Direct, Delayed, Day1, Day2, Night, or Holiday for a station,
relay, external pager, and hunt group, the system assigns a resource for enhanced ringing. The system limits the
number of resources or devices that can have enhanced ringing to one-half the total number of stations
supported. When installers reach this limit, the system prevents them from including any other devices in the
enhanced ringing plan unless they release a previously assigned device.
The enhanced ringing feature allows installers to program up to thirty holidays. Whenever installers program a
given day of the year as a holiday, the holiday ringing is in effect for all the devices that have enhanced ringing
enabled.
The VMMI programming supports the enhanced ringing feature. The following paragraphs discuss those areas.
Holidays
Installers can specify 30 holidays using the programming dialog titled, System Enhanced Ringing Holidays.
The month of the year and the date in a given month define the holiday.
