3.5 Defining The Option Circuit Cards
The FXT’s Auxiliary circuit board accepts smaller circuit cards that mount directly onto the board. The
array of circuit cards include the following items.
Synchronization Card
—
Adjusts the E1 or T1 transmit frequency to match the frequency from the C.O. The synchronization card
mounts onto the auxiliary board.
Communications Card
—
The optional communications card provides four serial data communication ports. You can install one
communications card on each expansion interface board. With communications cards installed on both
expansion interface boards plus the two serial ports provided by the CPU card and the four serial ports on
the FXINT-MAUX main interface board, the FXT provides a total of 14 serial data ports.
DTMF Receiver Card
—
The DTMF Tone card expands the system’s industry-standard dialing capability. Each DTMF tone card
provides four DTMF receivers, and the system accepts a maximum of three DTMF tone cards installed on
the auxiliary board. Certain versions of the auxiliary board provide onboard DTMF receivers precluding the
need for external DTMF receiver cards except at those sites where there is a high volume of outside dialing
by industry-standard telephones.
